Final Fantasy 1 Completed. Final Fantasy 2 almost done! (Day 7)

Beat Final Fantasy 1 on PSP in about 16 hours. It was actually more then that as I accidentally went through the "bonus dungeon" instead of heading to Chaos (the final boss). Got about 3-4 hours in and ended up dying. Damn marching mini game/puzzle thing sucks.

I ended up smoking Chaos after I discovered how to actually use a Monk. Who would have thought a Monk hits harder with his hands then with a weapon?! :P After taking off his weapon, he went from doing 10-150 damage to over 1000 to Chaos. Total smoke show. Completed the game with 999,999 gold (the max) but I didn't get through all the bonus dungeons or complete the whole Bestiary. I may go back after this is all done and complete that entirely.

As for Final Fantasy 2, I'm mostly done at this point. The game feels very short, though I do have about 16 hours logged on it. This game is not that exciting and seems to provide you with even less direction then Final Fantasy 1 at times. Money is hard to come by and EXP/Leveling is not part of this game. You character develops based on the weapons/skills you use. For example, if you use Black magic constantly, you'll gain more MP and do more damage with Black Magic, using all weapons, you'll hit harder, etc... . Another thing that is pretty lame about this game is they give you your 3 main characters and your 4th spot is a rotation of storyline characters. The problem with these story line character (except for 1) is that they start with no skills. I've recently got the Dragoon storyline character, all my main characters have tons of magic, over 3000 HP, 200+ MP, this guy comes in with 500 HP and 5 MP. Useless. To "level up" in the game I've just been entering easy fights and casting spells/attacking my own characters. So I'll use up all my MP healing/attacking my own team, leave the fight, go to the inn and repeat until I'm way higher then I should be and then wreck the next part of the game. Hopefully I;ll wrap this one up soon and get to Final Fantasy 3. That's where the real fun begins.
