Final Fantasy 2 Is Insane. In a bad way. (Day 10)

So I thought I beat the game a bunch of times last night. Once in the Cyclone, once in Castle Palamecia then I thought the end would be after I got through the Jade Passage. NOPE. I got to the end of the Jade Passage to get to yet ANOTHER dungeon and be dropped immediately, after I cruised right through the Jade Passage thinking I was going to continue to roll.

I'll never understand that about this game. I'll walk through an area with no problems only to get to the next area and get dropped. I think it has to with the lack of a real leveling system. I can't judge how much leveling I need to do or what I should level up until it's to late. Annoying.

Another thing I find incredibly obnoxious about this game is being constantly Ambushed. Almost every fight I'm being ambushed so the enemy gets to attack, then I pick my actions, then the enemy attacks again, then I get to attack finally. This is a cool game mechanic and is done well in other Final Fantasy games, but this literally happens 70-80% of the time. WAY to often.

Again, they have provided me with a USELESS storyline character, Leon. All of my characters are up around 5000 HP, 300 MP. He comes in with 1000 HP and 25 MP. What good is that? My first time through the Jade Passage I just let him die and continued on.

But it looks like I'm going to have to grind even longer to get through this awful game. I'm undecided if I want to spend the time working up my spells main attack spells(Ultimate, Flare Holy) or jsut try and grind out some more attack damage and HP. Either way, totally lame and I can't wait to be done with this.
