It's Finally Over!!! (Day 15)

I have finally beat Final Fantasy 2. I'm so damn tired tired of this game. After grinding for hours just to get my HP up to a point where being hit by a Death Rider didn't kill me (about 6.5k total HP), I was able to move slowly up the 10 floors of Pandaemonium and after 28 hours of mind numbing anguish, finally beat the Emperor.

Boy, does this game suck. Useless storyline characters, no real concept of "leveling up", magic being almost completely useless... I could go on and on. It will be put back on my video game shelf never to be played again.

The real highlight of this game was the mention of Kain. Kain will later become the friend of Cecil in Final Fantasy 4. In Final Fantasy 2, he is the child of a dead Dragoon who was good friends with one of the more useful characters Richter. Richter tells Kain he will raise him to be a Dragoon, but Richter dies while holding off the Emperor to give you time to escape Castle Palamecia. So who teaches Kain to be a Dragoon? Is it even the same Kain? Why the random connection between Final Fantasy 2 and 4 if it is the same Kain? I don't get it.

But anyway, on to Final Fantasy 3 on the DS! I have yet to beat this game, but I've come pretty close in the past, so it should prove much easier then Final Fantasy 2.
